    ><

Chokes tubes for Skeet.....CLY(Clyinder) or SK (Skeet)

For Stoeger, Mossberg, Weatherby and Wincester....I just go with Browning tubes.....Buy used on ebay for some good deals.

Edit.. Found these Briley for an great price, order two and call it good...make sure your Stoeger takes Invector Plus chokes.

Are there any real differences between the extended and flush chokes performance wise?

The extended one keeps it tighter (or looser) for that much longer before exiting

Its also nice because the idea behind them is to be able to put them in and remove by hand

No difference performance wise due to one being extended and one being flush.

Tom..take a close look at that SK2 choke...some are some are a bit tighter then SK and some are tighter then IC

I don't notice any performance difference, yet from my experience the extended chokes tend to be easier to get loose compare to the flush ones, probably due to be exposed during handling and transporting (e.g. inside range bag) from time to time. No biggie, just finger check the tightness (very easy, since they are exposed) more often.

My two skeet guns are choked sk1 & sk2 both 40+ year old BC Miruko's work great for me at skeet, I also use these in my 28 ga O/U but it isn't fixed choke like the other two, probably what I'm used to?
I still think if I was just getting started and the I found a sk2 I'd grab it and get to shooting.

My 11-87 Sporting Clays has the extended chokes really makes it easy to swap out during a round of sporting clays. Of course at skeet or trap with it I just leave one in.

I have Briley chokes in one gun and Carlsons in my other, I don't see any performance difference between them. The Carlsons cost less, so I think they are the better value.
The Carlsons website lists different chokes for Stoeger shotguns depending on model, the Long Fowler is not listed. Some take Browning Invector, some take Beretta/Benelli Mobil. You need to make sure you get the correct style.
Performance between flush and extended is the same. Extended are easier to change and are easier to tell what the constriction is...

I really think that's where extended ones shine, sporting clays where you can quickly swap them

You can spend $100 per choke. With a Stoeger, I don't think that is your goal. I recently bought a couple Muller U0's for skeet at $80 each.
For basic flush chokes, Briley and Carlson. Should be ~$25 each. Good? Yes. Best?
Cylinder or Skeet 1 and maybe IC for the second shot in doubles. The best is two Muller U/0's. After I switched to a U/0, my average went up an extra target. Easiest to clean too.

Check eBay before you buy your choke tubes elsewhere. You can usually find good deals on new Carlson's and Briley tubes /w free shipping.

Fair warning and this is not to bash the seller but the seller "hunting_stuff" on eBay was supposed to send me TWO Carlson's flush skeet chokes but only sent one. Luckily, eBay has a money back guarantee because he was adamant that he sent two and wouldn't remedy the situation. He has a good rating so I'm sure it was an honest mistake but it ticked me off that he wouldn't help out. I've got better things to do than rip somebody off for a $20 choke tube...

I have a extra IC/SC marked choke that I believe fits a SKB 12 ga O/U if anybody can use it.
