12 Gauge ATI SX2 Combo - Trap

I pick up my first shotgun on Friday afternoon. I have purchased an ATI SX2 12 Gauge combo. Many of you will know the ATI SX2 is a Turkish made semi auto shotgun with a 5+1 capacity. This set comes with both an 18 inch home defense barrel, and a 28 inch sporting barrel, with 3 chokes.

All of my previous shotgun shooting (which is very little) have been tactical or cowboy action shotguns.

I have a case of 2.75" Remington target loads with 7.5 shot at 1200 and 1,145 fps ratings. I also have two boxes of 1oz slugs.

My intent is to use the gun for the occasional tactical shoots or three gun shoots that call for a shotgun so I don't have to borrow one, and to learn trap and skeet.

My plan is to shoot trap next week out at Prado. Excluding use a different gun, any suggestions on choke and why, and any suggestions on things to have besides eyes, ears, and ammo? Tips and tricks are welcome too. I am expecting to start with either Modified or Improved Cylinder, for my first go round. Hopefully I will have the chance to pattern the gun before going to the trap range

Thefeeder, thank you very much. That is a killer deal, and well worth the drive. I can't make this Sunday, but hopefully there will be more clinics late October, early November.
