    Mossberg 930 First Outing

I finally got my Mossberg 930 SPX out to the range this weekend. I was a bit worried about all the reports of failing to cycle birdshot until it was broken in. I was happy that mine had no issues with about 80 shells of the Federal Walmart Bulk ammo.

Recoil is mild, and I liked the sights. The checkering is a bit aggressive, but the guy next to me with the same shotgun suggested wearing gloves.

Overall I am very happy with the shotgun. I really do think it may be the best value out there for a semi-auto tactical shotgun.

I'm glad you like it. I had similar experience with my 930JM. I never thought I'd like a shotgun this much.

It's a stock 930 SPX plenty of pictures of it all over the interwebs.

I was very happy it cycles well everyone is telling me to keep the gas piston clean and it will run just fine.

I took mine out today for the first time. I busted a knuckle trying to open the bolt with Winchester 2 3/4" 1350 fps 1oz 8shot. I thought using a higher fps is what you want for break in. It shot Remington sluggers no problem. I guess I don't have one of those eat anything ones 930s. By the way it's the 930 Jm model.

Mine works fine, but doesnt like Rio. Rio has cause problems for some other semi autos as well.

i've used plenty of wal-mart shells with no problem. Only thing that happened was the follower got stuck. Took it apart and cleaned the tube out and no problems so far. Has anyone replaced the follower and does it make a huge difference?
