Very cool gun!! I was looking for an H2O for ages and couldn't find one at a reasonable price. Is it possible to eventually "unpin" the stock without leaving any marks? The ones that I saw that could be bought in CA had their stocks drilled and pinned - which I thought was an absolute shame to do to that gun.

What specifically do you mean by "flaws with NP3 on the barrel and gas block"? Do you have some evidence that you can point to addressing that? Some chatter somewhere that you can post up a link to?

Something written up about it? I ask because of all the stuff that I have seen written about the M4, problems and whatnot, I have never seen anything such as you have stated and, as a future owner, I'm very interested.

I have two Benelli M4s... I believe they come with a Mod choke (3 notches) from the factory

I have over 1000 rounds of slugs through one of them... no problems yet... but a IC or Cylinder choke can't hurt if they threw it in...

          M4 H2O Stuck Pistons

The barrel is the most troublesome to refinish properly. When I took apart the gun to see the insides, there was signs of flaking at the gas block, gas plugs, and barrel extension. It was said to only have been shot 100 rounds through it.

EDIT: I wanted to mention he has never had a problem with his M4, shoots exactly like mine.
Hmmm...not sure what to make of that thread, but it doesn't sound good. It appears that the gun was tampered with by someone? Were you involved with this gun or another with a similar problem?

Do you know if Benelli is aware of this problem? Flaking off of a finish especially when it can affect functioning seems like they would know about it.

This model has been around long enough that if it is an ongoing issue they should be aware of it. Perhaps not coating the pistons would be a good idea. maybe they don't anymore or, maybe someone at the factory coated them when they are not supposed to be coated. Just thinking out loud here. I will def. tear it down to the studs when I get it in my hands and check it out.

When you try to reverse the "assembling and coating process" that is when problems happen. I can only speculate that Robar was in a hurry to get these on the market before they stopped it for a while.

The issue with my friend's M4 is more cosmetic than functionally.

I was involved with another M4.
I'm not arguing with you. The guy in post#3 says it was tampered with. I also find it strange that there is not a ton of stuff out there written about this if it is really an outstanding issue.

People would be complaining about it all over the place, such is the nature to do so.
