My friend got one through Atlantic, very cool. Haven't shot it yet though. I about to drop the money on one but went with an SPX instead as it filled the intended role better. Vepr looks like a fun toy though.

I just bought one at a local shop. It cost me more, but once you factor in adding the CA crap, shipping, and FFL fees, it's really really close. Can't wait to pick it up. I have a saiga 12 that I converted but it's not nothing on the VEPR.

I almost bought one of these last year, but then talked myself out of it for the simple reason of why? Cool as heck gun, fun to shoot, but the only real reason I can think of to buy one would be if I shot 3 Gun, which I don't (at least not yet). Other than that, what would you actually do with this gun? Just as a plinker? I can't see myself hunting or shooting trap/skeet with this. I am just curious, I know the Saigas and VEPR 12s sell like crazy but what do people actually do with them?

Awesome gun. I owned one and really liked it. I only ended up trading it because having a bullet button in CA really takes the shining point of Saiga and Vepr 12s away. No quick magazine changes here which is one of the best parts of these shotguns. I still loved the gun and it performed very we'll after 300 or so shots. I ended up trading it for a brand new M1A and never looked at a bullet button again. My Benelli m4 did perform better out of the box but if I had a chance to snatch up a converted Saiga or Vepr again I probably would...

Shotguns have to abide by the bullet button rule as well? i did not know that...

Yup and you cant run a featureless grip on a shotgun as well. So a bullet button is a must on a Magazine fed shotgun...

Yes but they are not bound by the 10 round maximum mag capacity. If you have 20 round drums you can use them in a semi auto shotgun.
