Well, if it does not fit you exactly the way you want it to, there's always this: http://precisionfitstocks.com/berett...ion-fit-stock/

I hunt with an SPII, I call it 'the finger of god'. I point it and without aiming birds just fall out of the sky.

I have a 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting that I purchased a few months ago for Sporting Clays/Skeet. I've been very happy with it. I compared it to some Browning O/Us and liked the feel of the Beretta more the Brownings.

They aren't cheap. Only you can decide if they are worth the money. For me, it was money well spent.

If it's what you really want, you won't be happy with anything else... Buy it...
A wise old Shotgun Instructor once told me...
"people will tell you to buy what fits you the best, bull crap. Buy what you really want, the stock can be adjusted to fit you"
There is a lot of truth to that, the gun that fits you the best could be a total piece of garbage...Would you want that?
I just put a deposit down on a new gun, it's not a perfect fit, but it's what I want. I can make it fit later...

I bought a SPI sporting about 14 months ago, figuring I would use my old gun as a field gun. After one time out, the old gun just feels terrible to hold- I haven't shot it since.

If it doesn't feel right when you pick it up, look at other guns- a browning, CZ or ruger red label won't do you wrong, but if you find the one you will know. I immediately loved the slim and quick feel of my berretta, it allows me to really focus on the target and shoot on instinct instead of trying to aim along sights at a moving target.

They are great guns, not cheap but for the quality and reliability they are completely worth it.

                I own a 30" Beretta SP1 Sporting. I like the gun a lot.

I reload and have been working on some 3/4oz Skeet loads. I have to run them fairly fast to reliably cycle the trigger. It is ironic as my A400 Xplor Unico will cycle any 3/4oz loads I have tried. It is not a big deal as the hotter 3/4oz loads actually pattern a little better than the slower stuff.

If the gun fits, I doubt you will regret owning one.

I own the Beretta S686E. No longer imported into the US, it has become the 'Holy Grail' for some. I would not sell it for anything.
IMHO, there is no such thing as a 'bad deal' on a Beretta O/U.

Joel Etchen sells a Beretta Silver Pigeon I with an adjustable comb. a good way to get that 'perfect' fit.

                    FYI

                        I hunt with...

...Silver Pigeons in 12 and 20. 28" barrel on the 12 and a 26" barrel on the 20.

Both have killed a lot of birds as well as clay birds. I usually kill a deer for meat each year with the 20.

Both are worth every penny, date from the mid-1990's, and are something I'll hand down to a grandson sometime.

Never had a misfire or any goofiness from either.

You will not regret your purchase.

                            Awesome gun!!

Know what you want to do with the gun. If you're hunting only then the Field model will serve you well. If you will be shooting some kind of Clays sport then get the Sporting flavor. The Field gun will have the auto safety come on every time you open the gun, which you will forget to disengage when you are on the Skeet/Trap/Sporting Clays field.
