Best Hardcase for Mossberg 500/590

Hello all,

I'm looking for recommendations for a hard case to take to/from the range that can be padlocked.

My budget is around 20-60$

Anyone recommend me anything?

So far I'm looking at the Plano 1511-01

I have that case. It works. Nothing fancy. Plastic is a bit flimsy but it's inexpensive

I went with a soft case that takes a lock through the zippers. The cheap hard cases have down that flops and slides around, leaving your gun bouncing off the plastic... Other than crushing, I think the soft case provides more protection...

Can you send me a link for the one you have? I've heard the hard cases are very floppy as well which is why I'm hesitant..but I feel if I'm just taking it to the rang it should be fine

I have that case as well. It's nothing I would fly with, but for transporting it works just fine. Depending on the length of your shottie, I've successfully transported two long arms in that case. Good value compared to other two long gun cases. Shop around or be patient with Amazon and you should find it for less. I bought mine from walmart for under $20.

I've got three or four different ones, and I can't recall any brand names... I buy whatever is on sale at turners (in the $20ish discount bin, not the really sweet tactical looking ones), and I think I got one from Amazon when I needed a particularly long one for my pellet rifle. With a couple of the cases I had to use my sewing machine, some nylon webbing, and some grommets to put a 2nd ring for the lock, but most of the time there are two zippers to lock together.
