    .
As long as you know how to figure this out, (and show your work) you'll be fine.

You can take the online course. Costs about $20. Then find an instructor who does the classroom session. Some will do it by appointment. Not sure where you're located, but guessing Northern CA...

I thought there were about 10 hard questions and maybe 5 "iffy" ones. Its definitely NOT like the handgun safety certificate, you actually do have to know material to pass it.

Many people fail the exam with a score of 79 or 78. Very close but not close enough.

I'm just going to hold off until I can take the online. I would have like to have gone after some birds Monday but it's not going to happen.

I think you can go through both and have to pay for the certification exam. I would take a look at both and see which one you like best. Some will go through the full course material from both to prepare.

If you have more time than money just take the 1 day class. You'll learn everything you need right then and there and only pay once. If you do the online like I did you pay $20 or $25 or something for the cert for the online class plus again for the in-class portion, and you may forget some of the stuff you did online if there is a big gap in time. I did the online route. Fortunately my instructor spent a fair bit of time covering all the conservation and environment parts of the test, which I hadn't really tuned into, but made up a fair number of questions on the test. I was able to blitz through the 100 questions really quickly and missed just a few.

Sounds like it is harder to be a hunter than a driver in California.

That's why hunters don't kill so many people.
