Just ordered a Shotlock Shotgun Vault

Not the most secure of all "safes" but it will prevent someone from barging in and pulling it out of the corner, and will allow quick access to those who may need to use it in emergency.

I'll post pictures of it mounted.

i have one mounted in my closet. No complaints here, although ive had it for less than a month.

I use it more to keep my shotgun loaded without worrying about kids or friends screwing with it. When im outta town, Shotgun still goes in the big safe

I was going to get one but my shotgun has ghost ring sights and I don't think the lock will work with it. I think that's why they won't work with the M4 or other railed shotguns.

i dont believe this to be accurate. If you would like, when i get home tomorrow night, ill take a pic of how the shotgun sits inside the vault, so you can make a judgement call for yourself. In my head i can't think of how ghost rings would effect it.

I believe the receiver will affect the locking, not the sight. The problem with M4 might be that it has a pistol grip stock and not the straight stock as pictured in the Costco site.

i can see how the pistol grip might be a problem, but i can also think of a way around it.

Yeah I read this too...I'm curious if the encloser could be easily modified to fit my Benelli M4, I mean to me it looks like the main "piece" that locks the shotgun down is the block that goes into the ejection port/opening so enlarging the enclosure can't be all bad.

Shotlock really seems to have this item zeroed in though, there's nothing even close to it save for a DIY job with a lock box bolted to the wall and two holes cut out for the shotgun to fit through lol!

Have this hanging in my bedroom closet as well. It's a pretty small space inside, and I dont think any shotguns with rear sights will fit.

I have a plain 870 express and it fit fine. I put in the Magpul SGA sling mount in between the receiver/stock and it makes it more snug to close, but I may be able to move the 'shelf' inside the ShotLock up a little so that the sling mount just sticks out of the opening in the lock. Hope that all made sense!

Well, on second thought, I agree with the conclusion that if your shotgun has a rear sight, it is not going to fit.

However, if your handy with a grinder, it would be very possible to cut a hole in the back of the safe for your rear sight to poke through.

Image 1 shows how the shotgun sits in the safe.

Image 2 I have the foam removed, and is to show more clearly how everything is mounted. The two blocks that surround the trigger guard can be moved to any number of locations. There is also a second way to secure the shotgun, which is via a block that goes into the firearm's receiver. This is shown in the instruction manual in picture 4. The gun essentially hangs off the block. Im assuming this could be used for those of you who have a Pistol-griped shotty.

picture 3 is how everything looks put together.

Picture 4 is taken out of the instruction manual, so everyone can better understand how everything goes together.

Edit: I literally do not know how to make the pictures any bigger. They were huge before i uploaded them to CGN. If you guys want bigger pics, someone is going to have to walk me through it.
