    Recommend me a shotgun coach

I am a beginner shotgun shooter, currently breaking 18s in trap and five stand (report pair).

Which shotgun coaches would you recommend for my level? I've been told to use Dan Carlisle, but $225 for 90 minutes is a little steep for my pocket.

Where do you live? Most ranges have instructors.

Have you asked at you local range?

I agree about not taking one expensive lesson, that's not how people learn. Find a local guy and take a series.

I took a lesson from Zach Keinbaum. I told him, you've spent your life becoming a champion, now teach it to me in 90 minutes

I am located in Chino Hills, near Prado and Raahauge's.

I've sent emails and called a few local instructors, waiting to hear back.

Dan Carlisle seems to be the most popular in my neck of the woods.

You're right down the street from a lot of us. Take that class at Triple B to start with. People enjoy it.

Call Jay Braccini - Level 1 NSCA - (714) 269-8116, he teaches out at Raahauge's.

Which Triple B class? How much does Jay charge and how would you rate his instruction?

The one everyone keeps talking about, no clue, he knows what he's doing.

I think you're being referred to the SoCal skeet clinic in the sticky at the top of this forum for the Triple B's class.

The So Cal skeet clinics offered by Don Ziegler are the best way to start. Excellent instruction, low pressure, fun, and the BEST value for the money.

Think of it sort of like going to a junior college before you go to a full university to get your degree: the skeet clinic will get you established in the basics. That way, if and when you do get private coaching, you don't have to spend money and time just to learn the basics - you can focus on the finer points and finding the tweaks that work best for you.

Check the two stickies at the top of the shotgun forum page. There's details on the clinics in one, and schedule and sign ups in the other.

BTW, that's how I first learned to shoot, and now my son and I are entering a competition in February. Very addictive.

I'm in your area as well and am looking to get proficiency in shotgunning. I signed up for the skeet clinic offered at the top of this forum in hopes of learning as much as I can, as I have little shooting experience. Go yo the stickys at the top of the page and find an open date, PM Captain Dick and you're good to go.
