    Benelli shotguns?

So I'm slowly growing onto the Benelli M2 and the Benelli Supernova both pistol grip variant, any pros and cons to these two specific models?

my application is HD and tactical fantasies

Are you looking for a tactical shotgun? Or something to shoot clay targets/hunt with?

I have the Benelli M2 Field Compact 12 gauge model, just picked it up last week, my wife is the intended shooter hence the Compact model. While doing research on the a shotgun for my wife, what I've found about the M2 are:

          1. Long length of pull. Especially on the the tactical model, it seems like the LOP is more suited for clay shooting and some opted to replace the factory stock with a shorter LOP one, such as the Urbino from Mesa Tactical.

          2. Inertial Driven System. I like this operating system, but some people don't like it because it has greater recoil compared to gas ones. Plus, you cannot mount heavy accessories on the front or you risk causing the Inertial Driven System to malfunction. These are not a problem for me because my shotguns are primarily trap and sporting clay shooting guns.

There are a lot of advantages though, that's why I now own 2 Benelli semi-autos (SuperSport and M2). Some of those are:
          - Out the box reliability and build quality. Have you read posts and articles about "breaking in shotguns"? Benelli owners are usually puzzled by this. Take it out the box, clean and lube, shoot and cycle anything you want. The gun is smooth and sleek out-the-box and well put together.

          - 10 years warranty. Love it when a manufacturer stands behind their products.

          - Easy to clean. Chrome lined barrel and the Inertia Driven System makes the M2 very easy to clean and maintain.

If I had not owned another Benelli before buying the M2, I would have also looked at these shotguns:
          * Remington Veramax. I still want to get one eventually, looks interesting.
          * Beretta 1301 Competition. Everything you want in a race gun, out the box.

          Good luck man!

Go for semi auto. I've got a supersport. Great gun.

If you are looking for tactical, get a M4!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

24" M2 was my first shotgun. couldn't be happier. although I haven't shot any other semi auto shotgun I'm happy I went with benelli. I put all my trust in the reviews without ever holding one let alone shooting one. it was such a soft shooter compared to a pump and put a lot rounds through it already within the first week of getting it.

I have a M4 for almost a year now and it's been flawless so far.

I've got a Supernova. Mines the hunting/clays type and I love it. I would recommend which ever one you can afford. The price differed between Benelli pumps and semi autos is quite significant.

If you are going for HD, get a pump action. I have a few semi-auto shotguns but I stick with pumps for HD. JMHO
