    Remington 870 Bullpup

Just did a Bullpup conversion on my Remington 870 Express.

    Used the kit from Bullpupunlimited.

I was skeptical at first, but this kit is really well made.

Using a 18" barrel the measurement from barrel tip to butt pad is 28.5" (2.5" above the legal OAL). Magpul MBUS sights.

Review to follow shortly after I put some buckshot through it.

Well, hopefully it works. Last review of that thing I saw had a bunch of failures to eject.

That is what I plan to find out. Function via running function checks look good but as well all know the proof is in the live fire pudding. :-)

Nice. Hope it works out for you. I'm very interested in hearing more.

Have you tried using snap caps to determine if there migh be any ejection issues?
        Sorry, not sorry.

Interesting, definitely interested in your review....

Also I thought minimum OAL for a shogun was 26"?

Yes, I have cycled through at least 50 shells and they all cycled fine. Ejection was swift.

I also did the above test in order to verify the magazine tube dimple removal function without hangup or incident.

You are correct. 2.5" above OAL. (Item #6 on the Calguns Shotgun Flowchart)

I asked the same question since I have a Mossberg 500 as well.

The answer I was given is that as of now only a kit for the 870 exists from Bullpupunlimited.

Rumor is that other kits are in the design stage.

I thought you were going to do this yourself earlier?

Remember that a spent shotgun hull is longer than an unfired shell.

they should get rid of the side ejection and eject the spent shells down.

Weight after build increased by about 3/4 of a lbs. Complete gun after conversion unloaded is 7.75 lbs.

Balance is nice. Will see how it shoots this weekend.
