    Add-on Vent Rail

I want to build an add-on vent rail for my shotgun. Does anybody know where a guy could order some 3/8" metal vent-rail stock with existing cross hatching? I know a couple of places out there that sell aluminum add-on vent rails, but they want upwards to $200 for them.

Try addarib.com $129 includes the adhesive strip. You can order it in varying lengths and heights. If your gun isn't listed give them a call and they will match you up with something that will fit. A lot better than trying to make something from scratch - don't reinvent the wheel (unless you're extremely brilliant).

By the time Addarib taps for the front sight and adds the bead for the mid sight and adds on the shipping, it's $186. It's also sprayed black aluminum, and could be fragile. I found some 3/8"x1/8"x10' bar stock for $6. I know by the time you cut and braze it all together your time is worth about 50cents an hour, but doing it yourself can be satisfying. The steel could also be blued.

The gun I'm messing with is a Browning BT99, but I have other guns that would be easier to shoot with a raised rib.
