    Shotgun options

So I currently own a Remington 870 express with a 28" barrel that I use for shooting clays, and having fun. I originally bought it for home defense and fun at the range. I have. Come to the conclusion that a 28" barrel is just not gonna cut it and I need something with a shorter barrel. I'd also like something with an adjustable stock with a recoil system. I've been giving thought to just swapping the stock, fore end and barrel to a blackhawk or magpul variant and an 18.5" barrel. I could then just swap barrels when I wanted to go to the range and bust clays. My other option is to buy an additional home defense shotgun. The first option would be cheaper, but only by a couple hundred bucks. The second option would be more fun. So, what say you guys?

Yeah I feel ya. My father in law, who owns the same 870 express that I do, just came home a few days ago with the 870 blackhawk tactical edition, and I'm drooling over it lol...

I took my blackhawk/knoxx stock off and swapped it out for the magpul SGA. Check out both before you buy one....

It's a Remington 18.5" IC barrel I bought from Brownells. Midway has it also but both are out of stock.

Scattergun Technologies +2 extension and Mesa Tactical 6 shot railed side saddle.

I was / am waiting for magpul to release the Mossberg stocks. I like their dark green.

I've found some great Mossberg 500 18.5", with wood furniture and 20 - 30 years old on Gun Broker/GunAuction. They last forever and parts are super easy to get if you want to replace something. Less expensive than new.

Buy a shotgun. I had a friend that put the blackhawk kit on his 870 he didn't like it. We would go shooting clays and he would miss 70% of them. He used to be really good at it. I told him to change it back and it made a difference hes back to shooting 90% of the clays down.

Do you really need to justify so much just so we could tell you to go and buy another gun!!!

Hahaha.. I knew I could count on you guys! My only concern is, it's easier to justify buying parts 1 at a time to the wife, as opposed to another gun...
