My 870 barrel doesn't go back on securely. I have read that the 870 express can't be broken down to clean. Is this a problem with anyone else. Thanks

What did you do to it?"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" [Matt 28:19]

Cant tell if serious but you should probably see a gunsmith to have them re-attach your band back to the barrel

You buy can a new barrel band. But no, I've never seen that before. How exactly did that happen? I'm more than willing to bet you did something wrong.
Also, why is the barrel band a completely different color? Did the rest of the gun go back together and does it function properly?
FYI, there is NO gun that cannot be broken down to clean. Yes, the 870 is a bit of a pain at times, especially the first few times you do it, but that is complete FUD the 870 cannot be broken down to clean.Last edited by TacticalPlinker; 11-29-2013, 1:14 AM.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕComment

That is a not a repair that you want any one to you. Send the barrel to Remington. No gun smith would try to braise a barrel ring on, or should not. That model just came out in January of 2012 so it is under warranty. Call 800-243-9700 and follow the prompts to Repair. Also, insist they send you a shipping label so you don't have to pay to ship it to them. They are going to send you a new barrel and not repair that one.JD McGuire, Owner

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.Comment

I'f mine looked like that, 1st thing I'd do is grab my phone and call Remington (on speaker), so that I could take a picture and send it to the rep who answers. I'm sure they'd like to see that. That is a not a repair that you want any one to you. Send the barrel to Remington. No gun smith would try to braise a barrel ring on, or should not. Wow I've never seen that? Did you just grab the barrel try to muscle it out of the action?"...... to disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." - George Mason -Comment

yup, I'd be doing one of two things.. Buying a new barrel, or sending it back to Remington for repair. Either way, I'm sure it'll cost some money.Comment

If its under warranty just send it back and let Remington take care of it. It happens occasionally on most makes of shotguns, the lug is silver-soldered on and sometimes its just not soldered well. It can be repaired, we've reinstalled or moved a bunch over the years, but if its under warranty might as well let Remington pick up the cost of making it rightComment

Im gonna go ahead and state the obvious here, Dont shoot your gun with that barrel until you get a new one
