Anyone shoot 16 gauge anymore?

My favorite quail and chukar gun is a 16G SxS, a CZ Bobwhite. The shells are not challenging to find. Oaktree GC often has ammo. And I regularly order from the usual suspects like SG, Grafs, Natchez, Cabelas, etc.

I eventually need a take down gun, and I can't think of a single reason to not get it in 16!

Yep nice feature, be nice with a case to fit, I think I still have one but man it's old.

After last weekends dove hunt Iam gettinga16g. After 16 surgeries on both shoulders, they cant take the beating anymore.

I have an old double barrel 16ga. that I pop off once in awhile, but prefer to keep it for posterity.

Yep mine is pictured above near as I can recall I got that in 1955. Gun was made in 1948.

Sometime in the early 60's just cost to much to make.

Not to discourage anyone from buying a 16, but why not reload for lighter shooting?

For a 'soft shooting' 16, get an autoloader like an old A5, or something built on a 12ga frame, with nice cushy recoil pad.

Neither of my 16's (even the o/u with a recoil pad) are 'soft shooters'. My Model 12 is a 62' and I love that gun! It doesn't get out as much any more but it is light, points like a wand, and drops birds like rocks!
