ATI Top Folding Stock for Mossberg 500 issues

Hi there,

This may or may not have been addressed in the past, I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, I just got an ATI top folding stock for my Mossy 500 pistol grip 12 gauge and it said to use the largest screw to secure the stock. That didn't work as it wouldn't let me rack the shells from the tube to the receiver. I installed the shorter screw which works but now won't let me engage my safety.

Is this a common problem? How can I fix it? Thanks.

just shorten the screw or buy a shorter one
grind, cut, or file it down enough to clear the safety

if you are not comfortable shortening the threads go get some washers and use those

and keep you cheek away from that POS when you shoot that 500

with my ATI akita on my 590 I ended up re-using the Mossberg stock's bolt, because it was cut to accept a slot-head screwdriver.

It worked with no issues. Might be something to try in your case

Take it off, give it to some one you don't like. Get a Hogue, or Magpul if its available yet.

So the general consensus is the ATI top folding stock sucks huh? lol

I like it but I'm just annoyed by the issues. I'll try using the OEM screw and see if that works.
