Stock help

Hi all, one of my shotguns is a Mossberg 500 with wood furniture. I shoot it the most and have 2 recoil pads on it. One is a stock pad and the other a slip on pachmyer. The length of pull is about 2" too long so I was going to saw off that amount and shave down the factory pad to fit, but the slip-on pad will be loose if I do that. I've tried a limbsaver, but I need 2 pads when shooting over 100-200 shells. (I have a very bad shoulder from injuries sustained earlier in life - pain is not due to improper form or stance).

Anyway, it also got me to thinking of looking for a junior sized stock, adding a limbsaver, and a universal slip on. Anyone tried this? If so, how is the fit of the pads? Someone mentioned the new magpul stock as well, but I haven't seen it out for the 500.

Get a 12" LOP Hogue stock and try it on with the limb saver. Ive tried this before and it works out just fine.

On my 590A1, I previously had a 12" LOP, then put a slip-on limbsaver which brought it to 13" LOP.

It worked good for reducing recoil, but curiosity got the best of me and I bought the CompStock (traditional style, not pistol grip), and the CompStock is MUCH better. LOP is 13.5" I believe. Very little recoil when shooting clays, almost feels like shooting an AR-15 in .223 without even doing push/pull.... I would highly recommend that setup. Looking to get a grind-to-fit Limbsaver for it now and see if I can make the gun shoot like a .22LR

Gracoil recoil reducer is on the pricey side but worth the money if you shoot a lot.

Frito Bandido hit the nail on the head so to speak I love my Compstock and have a jacked up back from a car accident and it works like a charm! 54% felt recoil reduction isn't anything to shake a stick at:

Take off the stock pad and throw the slipon ontop of the stock then. You'd reduce atleast 1 inch LOP that way.

Aside from that, I went the 12 inch LOP Hogue and I love it.
