I clean my 500A1 with a garden hose once a year. Little WD-40 afterward. shake it out. Wait a day, add a few drops of rem oil (since there is no such thing as moss oil ) and I am done.

Don't do this....

This is improper maintenance. 1 you will be looking at a bucket of rust if you do this over a few years and or store it for a good while after doing this. 2 stop being so lazy. Yes people in war do this with AKs and they still work big flippin deal. What they don't tell you is they also have a CRAP ton of FTF/FTE issues from just that. AKs or not. Actually what helps keep a lot of our troops alive.

If you can't take 15 min to clean your gun and maintain it please find another hobby.
