Turners (at least the FV) does not have the combo.
They did have the JM 24 for $629 and a 85371 Blackwater SPX 930 for $760. That sale has ended and I'm almost positive they don't have any stock left.
I was debating between these and the combo at Grant Boys for $596. I decided on the combo because for less money, I can get both barrels, get both stocks and get the mag extension (buy the PG full stock/$77 and the extension/$48 seperately of course). Choate supplies these to Mossberg and I'll probably get those but there are several other brands for the parts also.
What I won't get with the combo is a parkerized finish which is better than the blued, the "Blackwater" branding logo, and the SPX sights (although these SPX sights have been a source of problems in the past. I got alot of in depth discussion on the mossbergowners.com forum.
For me, the 2 barrels will make the gun alot more useful. I've never shot trap or skeet before but this will give me the opportunity to try it. Then I can put the short barrel back on (changing barrels is extremely easy) for home defense.
I can't wait to get it out of jail

The only thing I wanted about the JM is they have that wide mouth loading port and the over sized bolt release. I'm actually kind of glad you reminded me it has a cheaper finish because it give me an excuse to maybe try my duracoat project.

I'm still one the fence if I should sell the spare barrel and make the purchase even cheaper due to me already having a clay gun or keep it just for that added option if my 870 ever goes down or just for sh** and gigs. But when I pick up my O/U in the future it will def to by the way side..

But I'm sure when I feel the balance and weight ill know weather ill even attempt to keep it or sell the barrel.

But IMO those SPX sights are horrid. If they lost those and put the fiber sight from the JM that would be a beast.. I'd still change the PG too but I think it would be a more realistic non tacticool shotygun

From what I read, the 28" barrel is sort of hard to find on it's own so if you are selling it, you may have a high demand item to pawn off - BONUS.

The combo comes with a standard stock and I really like a full stock w/ PG. There are a few sources for these. I'll probably go for the Choate cause it's cheap at $77 (It's the one mossberg uses for the SPX) and I can get the mag extension there too. There's alot of hype about the Mesa Tactical Urbino but I think it's over $150 and I'm not sure if it's being sold in volume yet (they are local).

I didn't know that the JM had a wide mouth loading port - that certainly is a nice feature but it's too late for me now. If that's really big for you, there's a chance Turners' still has some JM 24's at the regular price of $650.

If the combo is what you want, you better get over there soon. Grant's started with 7 or 8 about 10 days ago. After I got mine this last saturday at noon, they had 2 left (1 NIB and 1 display). It was $673 OTD.

        Good Luck

TJ-does anyone know where to get replacement fiber optics for the 930 jm pro? I really prefer green over the red in the stock sight.-end TJ

Yea there is only the display left and I just bought it over the phone. Hopefully I like it haha

I was told the JM uses the Nordic ext tube no? Last I checked those were just around $100 for the 870.
Did you get a good look at the display model? Guy on the phone said it was clean no issues but then again he's a salesmen

              What was your total OTD?

They just ran my card and it came out to $675 with tax and DROS and all that.

I thought it was 673 but I might be off. It may have been 675. I'd have to find the paperwork.

Congrats on the new gun. I'm glad they still had one for you.
Did you get the last one or is there still another?

Last one I took the display. Doesn't look like it was toyed with much tho so its good to go.

When's yours out? I was actually suprised by that shop. Very pleasant experience compaired to rifle gears cluster f of trying to get a gun or shop worker to answer a question.

Ya the only thing pleasurable about the process was no wait time to handle a gun. However, from filling out the paper work till the time I left was the longest I have ever experienced and I was the only one there buying a gun. Slow check out process added with a 11 day wait and **** talking on customers that had just walked out the door.
I think that will be my first and last purchase with Grants.

Yea my guy was super cool and so was the others...

But if your talking about the Mexican dude yes he worked at the girding line and has some attitude issues.. Can be a cool dude but can also be a super di**. But I was in and out in an hour. Rifle gear would have been a 2 to 3 hour wait min. I even told him I was on my lunch brake and he went to rush and had 2 other guys process the last half and I told them take your time I'm on gov time. They still had one guy taking care of my paper work and another doing theirs.

Btw dam you for almost buying my gun! but I got mine so your ok.

Hah you have the same build idea I do.. If you find a good deal shoot me the info.

I'm looking to snag a fiber sight for the front and the tube/bolt as well. Possibly duracoat job and be ready. Still debating on if I want a side saddle I loved it on my old 870 but heard it can cause issues with function on these.

Basically as close to a JM pro in 18" I can get

I'm glad it worked out for you guys also. Maybe they should give me a commission. My experience at the store was pretty good. Lucas was helping me and there were no problems. I looked at all 3 (of the last 3) guns and they all looked fine. It didn't seems like it took a long time but I wasn't watching the clock. The 11 day thing is a little goofy but what the heck. I'll get over it.

I thought Mossberg got there extensions and stocks from Choate but that may only be for the SPX's. I'm gonna replace the bolt handle too eventually but the extension comes first. I'll try the stock that comes on it but I'll most likely get a pistol grip version.
So how much is a Duragloss finish? Does it make a big difference?

Next I gotta find somewhere to shoot this thing that isn't too far from here.

The SPX's have the Choate tubes not sureabout the JM pros, doing the little research I've done the Choate seems to be hit or miss as far as reliability, some need to be fitted to the gun or sent back if your not up to fitting it to the gun. On the other hand the Nordic tubes have 100% positive reviews from what I have seen. At only $25 more and a lot less chance of possible problems the nordic seems like the better choice.

Not sure about the price of a Duracoat job, as far as a big difference that all depends on personal preference.
