Another 'Rate my HD Shotgun'

Looking for opinions on my HD Mossberg. Got bored with the black, so I had it Duracoated FDE. Additional modifications as follows:

-Hogue standard LOP stock
-6 shell sidesaddle
-Lasermax LMS1202
-Choate Follower w/ polished mag tube
-Mossberg White bead (in lieu of the smaller brass bead)

The only thing I'm thinking of changing is replacing the 18" barrel it has with an 18" full ribbed barrel, simply because I think full ribs on short barrels are sexy lol. Just don't want to pay to have another barrel Duracoated :/

Thoughts? Opinions?

I ony went with the laser because I was looking for a new light to replace the Surefire I had on it previously, and I got it for a really good price. Had to modify the foregrip, but I like how it came out a lot.

Since you asked....

I think it will work fine as a HD Shotgun.

The ATI Plastic sidesaddle shell holder is cheap and flimsy. Consider a Mesa Tactical side saddle. Rock solid aluminum and run only about $50 - $60.

I'd rather have a bright light on a shotgun than a laser. I just see no purpose for it, whereas a tac-light is much more useful for target ID and disorienting a bad guy.

A good aftermarket follower and spring is a smart upgrade. A hi-Viz front bead would be too. That's about it. Too much tacticool crap and the gun just gets too heavy.

Consider a Mesa Tactical side saddle.

I looked at the Mesa sidesaddle, but at the time couldn't justify the price difference :/ Still thinking I might upgrade at some point in time.

It's a light/laser combo, I didn't care much for the size of the Surefire that was one it before, and got this for a great price. The light is plenty bright, the laser is just kinda there.

I put a factory Mossberg white bead on it, it's considerably larger than the brass bead, and a lot more visible without being too distracting. I went a bit further and added a dab of glow in the dark paint, and it works pretty well, even first thing in the morning after being in the dark all night.

I seriously considered it, but I'm thinking about getting another Mossy and submitting an ATF letter to build a 14" barrel non NFA shotgun

I like it a lot. Functional. extra rounds plus extended tube. Not a ton of extra lights, lasers, and other garbage put on there. Just seems to be the stuff you need and nothing you don't. I MAY add a 2pt sling if it were mine, but that would be it. Looks great as it is.

Why? So he can have a shotgun that won't extract reliably without polishing the chamber?

I paid over $500 for a walnut 870P and it wouldn't extract steel base shotshells until I hit the chamber with some steel wool, this is a known issue.

I'm done with Remington, my next shotgun purchase will be a Mossberg.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I tried to build it to be a little different from the usual shotguns around, but keep it functional.

To add to the 870 v. 500 arguement: I would like to get an 870 in the future, but for only having 1 shotgun, I chose the Mossberg due to a lot of the extracting issues I've heard about (even though I ended up polished the chamber on the Mossberg, but only because I was bored one day), and because the price (and my finances) were right at the time. Plus I like the ambi controls, and I prefer the slide release on Mossbergs.

I MAY add a 2pt sling if it were mine, but that would be it.

I do have a sling put on it when I take it shooting, but when it's sitting in my bedroom corner the sling comes off
