    O/U Purchase Question. Any Suggestions?

For anyone with experience, where is the best, most inexpensive place to purchase a new O/U shotgun (namely a Beretta 686)?
I think Turner's and Bass Pro prices are pretty much standard, right? I suppose they're competitive compared to some other smaller stores, but I'm trying to see if there's something I might have missed.
I'm not interested in a used gun, and I'm open to other O/U options.
    Thank you!

You're best bet is gunbroker, but come one man, it's an O/U, and a beretta at that. That kind of quality isn't cheap

Used is your best bet to get a low price. You might find a one here in the classified section, but your better off looking at shotgun world and trapshooter forums for a 686

Look up Jaquas fine guns- they're outside CA so what money you may save would be offset by transfer and tax fees.

In terms of other options; what's your intended purpose and overall budget?

What were the prices at the places you already looked?

I'm going to disagree with the above statement, unless ,you're never going to spend another dime on this gun for the rest of your life.

Indeed. The Captain speaks from loads of experience, and I know that having worked with he and Coach Z in the skeet clinic, my 682 is now tailored to me with some relatively easy changes. They weren't "cheap" by any means, but it's taken the gun (and hopefully my game) to a different level.

Also, check with Pacific Sporting Arms. Not only are they generally one of the better prices on quality shotguns, but they'll match if they aren't. Even more than that, you get amazing customer service and support from them.

FINALLY - PSA has consignment guns. There was a nearly new (only one season, and no blemishes) 686 White Onyx Sporting that was there a few months back. It was listed nearly $600 less than Pacific's retail price for the 686 SPI Sporting (which is already much lower than Bass Pro, Turners, and other retail).

Joel Etchen has the sporting for 1850. A friend bought one from the local sporting clay range for 1995.

I bought a SP1 from Pacific sporting today for $1998. Considering that you would have shipping and transfer fees added to the gun from Joel Etchen, and that the receiving FFL is now required to collect tax on it, it was just about the same final price either way.

By going to PSA, I got to see, hold, and feel the gun first, and chose which one I wanted based on the stocks wood grain. Spending a bit more to support the local brick and mortar shop is fine by me, but spending the same amount and getting the awesome service at PSA is a no-brainer.
