So I have always been a huge fan of my 870, love that thing, super reliable easy to maintain ect..... But this weekeend I was shooting my friends new M2 and his FNH MK1 and they load SSSOOOOO much smoother then my 870's. This may be a noob question but what makes them load so smooth and what can I do to make my 870's load smoother?

Polish the inside of the magtube, 0000 steel wool on a dowel chucked in a drill will work fine. Try a different follower, might help. Trimming a few coils off the mag spring will help some too. (don't take to much off).
With my SLP, I leave 11.5" of spring hanging out, and cut the rest off. I also replace my spring regularly, because I load and unload it far more than it gets shot.C Co. 509th ABN/PFDR

I found shooting 40 or 50 rounds of skeet seemed to smooth out my 590 quite a bit...NRA Patron Member
I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.
Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.
I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.
I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.Comment
