I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.
Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.
I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.
I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest. -
Or, as I see it, it depends if you want to compete based on your practice and earned skill, or based on the price of your gear.
He's talking about a first shotgun. He's not about to walk from Big 5 onto station 1 of the world championships. If he likes any of these games enough to get specialized gear he'll do so at that time.
In the meantime, he can shoot some clays, he can work with slugs at a range, he can take some classes, and he won't have dropped $2k.NRA Patron Member

Yeah I have only went clay shooting one time before and used my dad's friends 870 and I remember how excited I got when I hit the clay for first time. The only place that is close to me to shoot clays is a place to shoot and oaktree. I was going to go this weekend with my 887 nitro mag but it broke when I took it my local indoor range to try it out.Want to Buy: Ruger PC9 Magazine Buttstock PouchComment

I have a 28" Nova that has killed many airborn food sources, and I also have an 18.5" Nova for home defense. I can say that they are very well built, and mine have had virtually no issues, and if they have I cannot remember. Very easy to clean and take apart. Accessories can be somewhat difficult to find, but I managed to find everything I wanted for mine. (Side Saddle shell holder, tube extension, etc) Can't go wrong with a Nova!Comment

Oh, and I also took both of my Nova's skeet/trap shooting last week. The 18.5" was breaking clays just as well if not better than the 28", both without a choke in them, so don't think an 18.5' wont get the job done in that regards.Comment

Exactly, that's why I said, "If you just want to have some fun, buy what you like".Or, as I see it, it depends if you want to compete based on your practice and earned skill, or based on the price of your gear.
