Mossberg 500 stock recommendation

I'm looking for a stock with a reduced length of pull and a comfy recoil pad. I use this shotgun for HD and occasionally clay shooting. Not interested in the knoxx stock. Any recommendations?

Where is the LOP measured from, back of receiver to end of buttstock? Measured that way, my factory stock is measuring about 12.5" I'm wondering how much shorter this Hogue stock is from the factory stock.

Length of pull is from the back of the buttstock to the trigger.

The Hogue is good. I'd personally prefer to get a wood stock, cut it to size, and then attach a limbsaver. My only reasoning for that is because wood can be cut to odd lengths that fit you perfectly, as opposed to plastic, which only comes in standard sizes, and is harder to replace buttplates.

If that's the case, then I think the Hogue will be a perfect fit for me. That's a good point about the wood stock too, but I prefer synthetic for this gun. Thanks!

Yup Hogue 12" LOP would be good. I have a 13" Hogue on mine and it makes it a lot easier to shoot now.

I have the 13" stock from Aimpro but the wait was a bi-atch. I think it's superior to the 12" since I'm not wearing armor.

For me the hogue looked a little odd. And the 12" lop seemed more suited to LEO wearing body armour or hunting with heavy jackets.

Cutting down a wood stock is a good sugestion and is not hard to do. I just did this for a h&r I have.



pacymer makes a nice slip on recoil pad.

Or look for a 13" lop like the speedfeed.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, I'm going to try the Hogue and if I don't like it, I will look into some of the other options here.
