You are VERY wrong. You obviously don't understand the 870 platform.

THE NEW MODEL JD POSTED ABOUT IS ONLY ONE MODEL IN THE 870 LINE. So far. The fear is this is the way Remington is going.

You can buy any 870 barrel, Wingmaster or Express and it will fit just fine. Just make sure it's not for the NEW HD model with the FIXED EXTENDED magazine.

ETA: there are no barrels produced for the new model HD gun, only the 18.5 that comes with it. Any Remington listed barrel will fit your Wingmaster or Express.

You can use any 12ga 870 barrel except the MCS and the barrel that comes on the 25077 model. The MCS has a three shot tube and the 25077 a six shot so the barrel rings are in different locations.

Any 12 ga 870 barrel fits any 12ga 870 except the two mentioned above. The Model of any 870 mainly refers the finish since every 870 is the same. So any Express barrel will fit your Wingmaster, except the one mentioned. The same $150 blued barrel is only $101 in the parkerized police finish and is part number 242243. I don't give two squirts about the finish. I would buy the parkerize one for $101 and use the $49 I save for ammo.

I have a Wingmaster with a 28" barrel and a 20" smooth bore barrel with really nice adj. sights on it. Scored it off a buddy a few years back for $150
