They are going to 870's and are in the process of converting still.

Sadly, the majority of the Model 37's are NFA receivers an will be destroyed. The ones that are not, might be sold to department members or retirees. Those are few, and there is a huge interest in them. Don't expect to see them in the private sector except as some will be resold eventually.

That's too bad. Are they SBS'? The department could make a nice return on their investment by selling them. The DSPS may be the best pump shotgun ever made and demand for them is always high.

Most were SBS with 14" or 16" barrels. Great guns and if I can buy one, I will.

Add in that Sheriff Baca is anti gun, there is little to no hope in them being sold to the public.

Just picked up one on the board for $150. Took it to my shop and cut the barrel to 181/2 a day later. Love the feel of it and seams much lighter the my 870

I picked up a 37 in a trade deal. My daughter took it out for a test drive, and I doubt I'll ever see it again.

They're far smoother than the Remingtons or Mossbergs recommended here over and over and over.

You can't go wrong with a Model 37.

I've got one coming in the mail, made before wwii...

There's a guy on shotgunforums, SuperXOne , writes long and often how the 37 is best pump ever made for reasons including no stamped metal parts (neither does a Winchester 12), and it is a simple design with few parts (the Winchester 12 is complicated with many parts).
