Help me choose a SxS

Looking for a collectable, investment grade SxS, in 12 or 20 gage and need some help. I know that "collectable, investment grade" can easily mean $10k/$20+ so....to be clear, I have the modest budget of <$1,800.

Not looking for a $400 Stoeger. Looking for a Parker, Zoli, Franchi, Beretta, Winchester...maybe Bernardelli?? If you had about $1500/$1800 for this investment, which would you suggest as a strong candidate of best quality in this price range? Thanks all!

Personally, I like Parkers, I just looked on gunbroker.com and there were a couple at your budget and some just slightly above. LcSmith's will be in your budget as well and they're also a nice gun, but the first choice is Parker. Parker Bros. is one of the best, if not the best american made shotgun. I like American SxS's. That's my 2 cents.

Have fun with the hunt, I love searching for a new gun. Enjoy!!

If you are looking for a collector grade gun you are just barely at entry level cash wise. Parkers have a strong collector following and I believe are way over rated. You will be hard pressed to find a good deal and anything more than a solid shooter at your price point on a Parker. I would look for an Ithaca NID 20 gauge. You might be able to turn up a nice all original field grade, grade 1 or 2 gun for about 2k. Originality is the key to make the deal work in your favor.
Whatever make gun you decide to buy you are going to have to become an expert on that particular make and model.

><

Collector grade and 1800.00

I would have to throw a NIB Browning BSS 20ga into the hat. May be a bid more close to 2K.

As stated in previous posts, do your homework and know your stuff.

Collector grade can mean a lot of different things depending who you ask.

A heads up: There's been a BSS 20ga @ Turners San Marcos for awhile:

How collectable are the BSS and Model 23? Both I believe are made by Miruko. Built tough but a tad heavy.
