      My 500 ATP8 has served me well for over 13 years, including 5 years as the SG Range Master at a well known training facility.
      The only counsel I can offer is stick with the straight stock and avoid the pistol grips. The Mavericks are "Mossberg Lights" and if not subjected to hard use would be an option, but only if the budget won't tolerate the additional $100.
      A shorter length of pull is better than too long. Not much need for 3" shell for HD. But if a short stock is knocking you around, I suspect it's not mounted/shouldered properly.

        I have the 590a1. The Rambo bayonet is cool, but the lug interferes with a standard flashlight mount. I wound up going with the FAB defense tri-rail pump, but the side rails will hurt if your'e not holding it properly.
