I have threaded lots of fixed choke barrels for screw-in chokes.
The barrel OD determines what choke tube type the barrel can be threaded for.
I have all the common 12ga choke tube tooling including tru-choke thinwall, tru-choke, remchoke, browning-invector/winchoke/mossberg.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
    Most work performed while-you-wait.

I didn't want to alter the barrel only because I've had it this way for so long and to do it because of an idiot group thinks it's for the better. Out of curiosity, what's a garden variety threading job go for?

        $130 usually covers it.

As far as your Click Bang issue that may be caused by Dirt or Dried Up Grease in the works. I'd take the gun apart and clean it thoroughly. The Bolt is where I'd look first.

Thanks for the suggestion Randy. That incident happened when I was around 18 or so, or to put it perspective around 50 years ago. I haven't a problem associated with the gun since. That's why I wanted a replacement barrel with interchangeable chokes so I could shoot %§¢€ steel so could take it hunting.

The barrel from Carlson's arrived today around 10AM from the FedEx delivery. $353 delivered and I bought two choke tubes (it is furnished with one). It's supposed to cool down a bit so I'll be headed out to the trap range and try it out. The barrel looks good and so do the choke tubes.

OK, So you are saying the gun hasn't been deep cleaned in 50 years? Has it ever been Deep Cleaned.

There is complete instructions on You Tube on how to take the gun completely apart and clean it.

I have a Mauser ES 340 b .22 rifle made in 1929. I bought it in 1968 when I was 18 years old. It is my most Prized Possession. I took the bolt apart just so see what was inside a few years ago. There was Dried Grease from when the gun was built packed in the bolt however the striker would still function normally. It functions more better now that all the Crude and Dried Up 90 Year Old Grease has been removed and some "Amsoil 20-50 Racing Oil" now lubricating the Spring and Striker!

Guns are "Machines" and the Main Enemy of Machinery is Dirt. Plus that they just work better when clean..

A friend brought a 1960's 870 to the Skeet shoot recently. It was in pristine condition but it was sluggish to operate. I gave him a Little 1 oz. bottle of the Amsoil 20-50 Racing Oil and showed him where to put it on the gun. It slicked right up and he really likes the gun now. This guy is no Slouch when it comes to Shot Gunning and is my main Mentor at the Skeet Range. Yesterday He shot a $140,000 Galazon Handmade Shotgun I had never heard of, and I got to hold it while he was Slobbering about the Amsoil. The gun was alive !!! And he had even lubed the Hinge with the Amsoil I gave him.

1 Qt. will last a lifetime. Try it you'll like it.

Again, sound advice and good story Randy. I don't know how deep the cleaning is. I run a bore snake, run some good old #9 all over it followed by some Remoil. It's run like magic for me.
