    Which sights for home defense?

I was wondering what everyone thinks are the best sights for a home defense (not combat) shotgun? I currently have a Tru-Glo snap on sight. It snaps around the barrel and butts up against the factory bead sight. I am considering getting Trijicon Shotgun night sights and having them mounted, but an not sure if I need them.

Is this for yard defense or home defense?
Inside the house, you won't NEED sights.

I love my red dot sight on my Mossberg 500 and it's cheaper and easier to install than the ghost ring sights.
Plus, my wife loves the red dot sight!

Easy, you just don't lead 'em as much

          Sights REALLY won't matter.

+1. For less than 30yds, if you've fired enough with a shotgun you really don't need sights at all. You just naturally point it. If you're shooting further ghost rings are nice. I hope you don't "need" tritium to shoot at long range as that likely means you aren't seeing your target.

My shotguns have ghost rings, but I'm a slug shooter.
Beyond 30yds, a shotgun stoked with shot is an "area weapon", not something you shoot at a "specific target" with.
Slugs make it 75yd capable on specific targets.
If you are not shooting slugs, the sights won't matter.

I have ghost rings, too. I was thinking of slugs beyond 30yds and agree. I only really focus on my sights when I'm shooting the 100yd plates with slugs. It's not much fun shooting buckshot at the 50yd metal because of the spread.

Just a front bead or FO and practice you can hit 75 yd coyote size target no problem
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

                    With slugs?
I hit paper at 100 yards with a benelli nova with ghost rings with a slug and I thought it was just lucky.

Yes with slugs A zone shots are done at 60 yards in a 3 gun match and that's under time pressure with only a front bead.
