well someone thinks its illegal to remove the buttstock on a saiga 12 and by that action that person must also think the calguns shotgun flowchart is wrong

oh one more question are you allowed to have a forward pistol grip on fixed 10 round shotgun with 18 inch barrel and oal of 26 inches

hmm thinking this to its fullest if one were to make a saiga 12 receiver and never install a buttstock and assemble it with 18 inch barrel and maintain a greater than 26 inch over all length it is an title one other correct and if it is not a shotgun it could have a detachable magazine if not where is the failure in my logic

I once heard through the grapevine that one other person had made a Saiga 12 blank but I don't know if they ever marketed it. It's like the white whale. your post raises and interesting qustion that was hashed on on a thread I posted once, but the conclusion was that it may be technically legal but no one wanted to test it. Unfortunately Saiga AOW's need a maglock. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=513982

Whoever is telling you wrongly that it is illegal to remove the buttstock, have them tell you the penal code that says that. You'll notice not only will they not give you the PC, but those kind of FUD spreaders will just look at you funny like actually looking up the PC is some kind of foreign concept. Probably a guy that just repeats what some random person told him, cause he is too lazy (or ignorant) to look it up themselves.

I'm not exactly sure though what the advantage of removing the stock would be. Moving around hallways easier? maybe. Just for fun? Sounds good enough to me.

If you were going to take the buttstock off I would recommend cutting off the rear tang and attaching an adapter either weld on or bolt on like this

That would get rid of the problem with the dangerous rear tang sticking out and also you could attach any number of aftermarket stocks, because lets be real, the manufacturers buttstock sucks

i have a little block of wood to screw on but i'm just trying to get someone to tell me its illegal because someone i talked to was so convinced and they seemed like a credible source yet could not explain why it was and they are even have a vendor section here

i personally think its fairly useless without a stock but so are mossberg persuaders

Useless perhaps. Maybe not as useless with a vertical foregrip that may take some of the kick away and increase control, though I can't say for sure having never tried it. But I do want a Saiga AOW

                          Holy mall ninja, batman!

...not to bag on someone else's build, but why would you need irons and an eotech on a shotgun?
