I'm trying to figure out what I want to offer for a 686, bit I can't figure out if the fact that it has a Graco adjustable comb is a wash or if it adds to the price.

Adjustable comb on used sporting shotgun: Added Value?

People do pay additional for a adjustable comb from the factory. I don't believe any 686 came with an adjustable comb so the previous owner would have to pay $$$ to have one installed.
Yes, I do think a well done comb adds to the value of a shotgun. A poorly done one kills the value!Wanna learn to shoot SKEET? I am here to introduce all shooters to the sport of SKEET Shooting ....

Yeah, I couldn't find any record of 686s coming with a Graco comb. The one on this white Onyx I'm looking at was done flawlessly; as if it were factory.Comment

The Beretta 686 E was available with their factory fitted "Memory System" adjustable stock.
I fact if you go the the International Beretta site where the 686 family is still alive and well, the "686 E Sporting" and "686 E Trap" are still listed as being available with this option.
I wish I'd purchased this option with my 686 Sporting.
I wonder why Beretta discontinued the 686 skeet/trap/sporting in the US?

In my experience, most of the time the factory adjustable hardware needs to be replaced with aftermarket stuff.
For some reason the factory stuff always comes loose.
There's a guy in Long Beach named Scott Steer (909-856-7171) that's supposed to do good work. I've never used him, but I've seen his work, and it looks good.Last edited by ysr_racer; 04-22-2012, 7:33 PM.Comment
