    Trap vs Skeet

What exactly is the difference? Ive always been more into pistols and long range rifles. I do own a Benelli Nova, and went out shooting with it once. We had some clays and a hand thrower, but just wanted to broaden my horizons and knowledge in this area. Thanks!

In Trap, you have one house and you shoot from behind the house. The house is lower so you see the roof of it. Your clays will be going away from you and rising. In Skeet, you have two houses of different heights and you shoot from eight stations which form a semi circle between the two houses. Most of your skeet shots are crossing you on a horizontal plane except for the stations closest to the two houses and station 8 which has clays coming directly at you.

The short answer is they are both games of repeatable target presentations. As mikey357 said, in trap the targets always go away from you, in skeet they always cross in front of you.

Go to any trap or skeet range in America, and you will see the exact same target presentations.

Now Olympic trap and Olympic skeet are very different games than the toned down American versions.

            Which is which?

At trap I can usually get 15 to 20 of 25.

At skeet I am lucky to get 10 of 25.

Ok cool, thanks for the clarification guys!

Now one newer question... This shotgun had an extension installed on it. How many can a shotgun hold legally?

As many as you want, only 3 when hunting though.

                      At this site: http://www.remington.com/pages/news-...downloads.aspx

They have a brochure on both skeet and trap . . . both good references.

Depends on where you shoot trap and skeet!
