Did I **** myself on this deal??

I had been searching for a nice used O/U on Gunbroker, Pacific Sporting Arms, etc since December and I thought I had a decent feel for the market. Then I got my tax return and I suppose it burned a bit of a hole in my pocket....

Here's the gun I ended up with: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=275767346

$4250 for a Beretta 682 Skeet 30" 12ga, with a 2nd carrier barrel fitted with Kolar tubes and a Nasco case.

The lighting in those photos is very...ideal, the colors don't pop like that in real life, or at least not in Riflegear's fluorescent lighting. I didn't have forever to look it over as Riflegear was about to close when I went to put it in jail but overall it looks in great condition. Some wear marks on the barrels and a few nicks on the bottom of the stock but nothing terrible. The 28 and .410 tubes look unused. Overall I'd say the condition is "good to very good."

Anyway maybe I have some buyer's remorse but I think maybe reading Shotgun world too much has made me crazy. People there seem to say that you could get pretty much the same as I got for $3200-3500. But I haven't seen guns with subgauge tubes in good condition available for prices like that. So...did I overpay? If so by how much?

the sub gauge tubes would run about +/-500 each by themselves so figure you paid about 3200 fo gun if you got 2 tubes with it ....

Are YOU happy with the purchase irrespective of what everyone else is saying? If yes, you done good. If no, was it bought as an investment? If yes, well there will always be a better deal somewhere at some point.

Just go out and enjoy it.

I agree with this. if you are happy with it, than you did a good job and got a good deal. PERSONALLY, i wouldnt have paid that much for a gun that isnt a Caesar Guerini. but to each his own.

You are in the ball park on price.

What matters is that you could afford it and it makes you happy. If both of those are true you got your money's worth.

Enjoy your gun and shoot it often. Putting more money down the pipe than you paid for it is a great feeling and eases that initial sticker shock.
What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?

Well, I can't say whether or not you overpaid, but that sure is one beautiful shotgun you just bought. Put the money behind you and enjoy your new gun!

Beautiful gun. You'll be sad twice. The day you buy it and the day you sell it or it gets stolen. Shoot and enjoy.

Well said. Thanks everybody for the encouraging words. I think I was suffering from too much forum trolling and needed to come up for air.

I really wanted to buy a CG as they look amazing, but they just didn't fit me as well as a Beretta. Tried em all at Pacific Sporting Arms, Beretta felt the best to me under cheek and in hand. I really didnt care for the checkering on the new Gold Es but the older models felt better. Yup, to each their own.

You did good. Enjoy the new toy!

If you are really curios...go to Berettas website and see what a second barrel will cost you, not to mention the fitting cost of the barrels.

Worth it...just think what the replacement cost would be!

Looks beautiful! Go out and enjoy it!

You got a 12ga barrel and a carrier barrel. I'm not familiar with Beretta parts prices, but I would guess another set of barrels from Beretta would be at least $1000 to $2000 plus the cost to convert it to a carrier barrel. You did OK.
