new shot load discovered

found a new way to hand out change n have fun with it

just messing, just a boring sunday n thought i try something new. u think this is a non-lethal load or would it react like a buck shot? 5 dimes fit perfectly in the plastic wad housing so i dont think it would do any damage to my barrel IF i tried to fire it at the range, highly doubt that i ever would. just curious to see how it would perform tho.

Weight the dimes and make sure they're about the same as the original load. Too light or too heavy of a projectile can do funny things to the pressure of the load. Things like burn rate of the powder is closely matched to the weight of the projectile. Good luck!!

Forgot about the question ... There are disc loads for the 410 defensive loads. I think this load will perform much like a buckload. Again providing the pressures are safe.

I think for self defense it is mandated that they be silver dimes - in case of a Werewolf attack.

Just guessing, but the aerodynamic qualities of a flat disc at high velocities can't be anything impressive - but I bet they make a cool whizzing/spinning noise once they separate from the shot cup!

lol truth be told at least 12 dimes would fill it from wad to the top with but if i was dumb enough to stuff over a dollar in a shell i might as well buy slugs. but yah with only 5 dimes + a little paper towel as extra wadding it does feel a little lighter than the #7.5 shot it initially was.

I'm guessing that if he's not mistaken, and there is actually $2.70 worth of dimes in that shell, that he took the wad and piston out too. He wouldn't be able to get that many in there otherwise I don't think.

Do the math. Ten dimes = Buckshot.
While you're at it, you may as well get some equivalent sized washers from the hardware store... these would make nice hollow-points, though lacking the point.
