But I don't see that happening because the UTS looks FRIKKEN HUGE! If the wind is blowing you'll fall over. Yeah, it's only 7.2 pounds, but it has the same surface area as a mainsail. The KSG is more than a quarter pound lighter and an inch shorter in length. But it looks as if it's a foot shorter in height than that damn UTS.
Normally, I would be surprised if the UTS-15 got past the "sporting purposes" clause of the 1968 Gun Control Act. ATF has so far applied this to semi-autos, but how much turkey hunting will be done with the UTS-15?

Unless . . . remember the Fiscal Year 2012 Agriculture, Commerce/Justice/Science (CJS) and Transportation/Housing/Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations billMaybe this language was lobbied into the law specifically to allow the importation of the UTS-15.

      Hmmm.

PRESS RELEASE UTS-15 TO BE MANUFACTURED IN THE U.S. April 13th, 2012 – Des Plaines, IL UTAS Makine, Ltd, manufacturers of the revolutionary UTS-15 tactical shotgun announced today that the civilian model of the UTS-15 would soon be manufactured in the United States. UTAS’ Director of International Operations, Rana Guney stated today, “We’ve been working with a company in the United States, to set up manufacturing for quite sometime. It has been a difficult process that required building a lot of duplicate and expensive tooling, such as polymer injection molds. We have a signed license agreement, most of the tooling in place and it looks like they’ll start production of the American made UTS-15 parts in April, with finished guns being delivered in late May or early June. ” The UTS-15 tactical 12 ga. pump shotgun is a patented, ground-up design that relies on fiber reinforced polymers for over 85% of its parts and is the first such firearm to have the receiver molded completely from polymer. At only 28.5” in overall length and weighing only 6.9 lbs, but with dual, top-mounted alternately feeding magazine tubes providing a total magazine capacity of 15 rounds, the UTS-15 has broken new ground in tactical shotgun design. Added to this in the Military & Police Model, is a built in point-and-shoot impact centered, focused-beam LED spotlight, adjustable laser sight, flip-up large aperture peep or V rear sight and a glow-in-the-dark bead front sight. One of the World’s most award winning firearms designers, UTAS until now has remained virtually unknown. The revolutionary UTS-15 promises to change that and as one company official put it “the UTS-15 is just the first in a line of innovative firearms we’re already developing; everyone will soon know the name UTAS.” The U.S. manufactured UTS-15 civilian model carries a base price of $1200. For more information on the UTS-15 tactical shotgun, go to www.utas-usa.com or contact UTAS-USA (847) 768-1011. All orders will be filled on a first prepaid / first shipped basis

          Well, that's that.

I often wonder why more of these guys don't manufacture in the US. The Neostad, the AA-12, all of them could be selling in the thousands in the largest commercial firearms market in the world if they would simply set up manufacturing here.
