I dont get your outside/inside idea. Your talking about defending life inside your home. So if you have to defend your life on your patio you will grab diff gun!? If you are shooting at such a distance you need diff guage-.?That means there is no longer an immediate threat. Arevyou in a running rifle battle? I have not read about these long distance "home defense" shoots.

The distance in the vast majority in homes is under 20 feet. Id rather have more pelets then less

The idea of folow up shots and kick?.i go back to your home, one shot should be enough in your hallway or bedroom if not you should be easily capable of letting another round loose. Unless you live in a walmart size home---- look at your home and the spaces involved...very tiny especially when using a scatter gun

Please keep in mind that in no way am i implying a 410 wont work. It absolutely will. But to imply its better then using a 12 gu you are wrong.

Well since I have no idea what a 12 gu is I'm going to have to say that the .410 will work better....because it exsists on this side of reality.

Now if you mean a 12 gauge is better that's a different story,and I'll agree as far as payload,but it will have more than is needed for a close range defensive encounter.
