    Dr. Feelgood MK-1 and MK2

    Dr. Feelgood MK-1

    Dr. Feelgood Mk-2

    Both are .410 defensive shotguns.

The MK-1 came from the factory with a wood stock set while handier with the short 18.5 inch tube,it still lacked a bit,for starters the L.O.P. on the wood stock was a tad long for intended uses, and because of the wood stock set the weight was 6-1/4 pounds.

The MK-2 solves the problems of the MK-1,the factory pistol grip was removed from the 50455, a 13.5-inch L.O.P. synthetic stock was installed (which keeps the weight at 5.5 pounds) and a sling was added for easier carry.

All that's really missing now is a good light and a buttstock ammo carrier.

It isn't the size of your hallway howitzer,it's how you use it.

I'm thinking about a Remington 1100 defensive build (But thats farther down the road, yeah they cost a pretty hefty chunk of change) for a semi-auto .410.

The weight would be more but it should still work (Gas system instead of recoil based)

I was able to pick up some Federal #4 Buckshot the other day.

I'm planning on using that load as an in the home defensive round while the '000' would be better for "yard work".

The 3-inch shells hold 9 each.

From what I've seen online #4 buck has been called little better than birdshot, upon looking at the pellets first hand I would beg to differ, the load in question should do very well for the close quarters work encountered in a defensive situation.

I'll be posting pics of the test targets A.S.A.P.

why .410 and not 12ga or even 20ga?
None of my posts are serious or real, nothing I post is legal advice.

Because the .410 is perfect for close range work (with the right ammo).

The 12 and 20 are best used for other jobs outside the house where the larger payloads will be more useful.

I love the wood furniture one, looks pretty neat.
Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there...

                    Thanks.

The MK-1 is pretty nice,I'm thinking about installing a sling swivel on the stock so I can use it as a BBQ showpiece (one of the other reasons I've went with the MK-2 as a carry gun, didn't want that wood stock to get beat up)

I'm planning on picking up another 50455 so I can have spare parts for the other two guns and I'll have another barrel for the MK-1. or I could put an order in for a .410 hs and put the "Spreader" choke barrel on the PG (MK-3) and make another MK-2 with the 50455's barrel on the HS.

Still dont understand using 410 for home....you breing ganged up on by quail?
If you or family or being life threatened r great bodily injury i just dont see using a small shell as making sense.

Unless larger is too heavy for you
And no i would not want to get shot by a 410 -

Wasn't going to say that at all friend.

Why do you doubt that a .410 pump with '000' buck can get the job done just as well as a 20 or 12 gauge?

Remember with the bigger gauges you have more recoil to deal with, not so much with the smaller gun.

The Larger gauges would be more of a use outside because the larger payloads would be needed to ensure a good hit.

The smaller load of shot thrown by the .410 means that there will be less overall structural damage to your house (also lessening the chances of bystanders getting hit by pellets that either missed or slammed through the threat) in the event that said firepower is needed.

It's more firepower than a handgun and faster/easier to hit with than a rifle or carbine at close distances.

Feet per sec is the same in most shells 12/20/28/410 just less payload.Nice pair
