Is the Saiga 20k legal in CA? Do most of the gun stores carry it? If yes, which one?

Saiga 20k

Haven't seen a Saiga in 20 gauge although atlantic firearms had them in .410 gauge not to long ago. I also think the 20k has a shorter barrel and that would make it not legal in CA. Get a saiga 12. Great firearm and pretty easy to find in CA. Prices are dropping now that the shotgun ban scare drama with the doj is done. If you really want a 20k get a playstation and battlefield 3.Last edited by icee169; 01-09-2012, 11:43 AM. -
that's why I think it's hard to find >< what's .410 gauge? is it in between 12 & 20?
yes, the k has a 19" barrel... I'm small, so I need a 20 guage with shorter barrel.. less weight.. I can't swing a 12 gauge with 28" barrel unless it's a light weight semi such as a Benelli Supersport @.@ my remington 870 tactical with Knoxx Specops stock's barrel is 18" and I can shoot it in most ranges in CA, but not sure about the Saiga...
how much does the Saiga 12 weight? how long is the barrel?Shawty loves shotty

.410 is below 20 gauge. I believe that Saigas range from 19" to 22" barrels and the weight is somewhere between 7 to 8lbs unloaded.Bounce a ball in Football that's a fumble. Baseball, no bouncing at all. Bounce a ball in Hockey, well that's a mandatory drug test right there...Comment

Check out guns america.http://www.gunsamerica.com/941270391...a_20_gauge.htm You may have to find a middle man to have it made ca legal. Seems the 20 gauge isn't that popular. Give the 12 a try. You might find that it will work for you plus there are many more aftermarket parts for the 12. Good luck with you search.Comment

.410's aren't bad at all. A good choice for those that are recoil limited, I'm sure the rounds are a lot lighter than 12 gauge and 20 gauge.
On a side note, the first Saiga shotguns were originally built with the .410 in mind. So can't go wrong there

I havent seen a 20ga in quite some time, but I would take a 410 anyday, those things are bad ***! What are you using it for? Clays? HD?
My female friends who try to use my Saiga 12 say it is a bit bulky at first, but torwards the end of the session they tend to gravitate to it haha.
Love my S12 =) If your ever in SD, your more than welcome to shoot it sometime.

is it harder to break clays with a 0.410 than a 12 cuz the shotshells are smaller??
I held it at the gun show, and i felt it was a bit heavy.. i might not be able to swing comfortably enough to break clays with it...I havent seen a 20ga in quite some time, but I would take a 410 anyday, those things are bad ***! What are you using it for? Clays? HD?

I dont have much experience with the .410 but I'm assuming that it's most likely that it is harder to hit clays with a .410 rather than a 12 or 20 gauge, just because you don't as many pellets as 12 or 20 gauge shell.
But with practice you probably wont notice the difference.

You can break clays with a .410. It's just more challenging. If you're just looking at shooting clays and are insisting on a 20 look at the Remington 870. IIRC, it's a bit less hefty than your Benelli you gave up. Either that or hit the gym and get some muscles girlie.

Just a little interesting video about the .410 shotgun shell.my first shotgun was a nova 12 28, and i barely broke clays with it cuz i couldn't swing it.. it was too heavy for me. then i tried my friend's remington 870 with knoxx specops stock 20 18, i broke many clays lol so I guess I'd rather practice with the 0.410 than hitting nearly nothing with the 12g heheYou can break clays with a .410. I will also work on my arms too haha
but do u guys think swinging a saiga 12 is the same as swinging the Nova? the saiga 12 is shorter tho.. if it's a lot easier than the nova, then i will just get teh saiga 12.. heheShawty loves shotty
