There's the Beretta UGB25 Xcel and the Remington 870 Competition if you want a break-open semi or a single shot gas piston pump action...

And not to mention the barrel has to be fitted to the receiver and usually cannot be interchanged with another barrel. most O/U have the serial # on both the receiver and the barrel to make sure they are matched set. This requires more labor than the typical pump action.
As for a semi its simply the more intricate workings and mechanism than a basic pump shotgun
I have had all three types of actions and they all have their good and bad points.
Now someone please invent a semi auto break action pump shotgun for crying out loud

Check out www.joeletchenguns.com for the 3901 Statesman. They are one of the larger Beretta dealers in the country.

Some of the target specific Beretta shotguns in 309 3901 models are a little more $$ but have target stocks, and adjustable shims to make the gun fit you. Plus the piston driven action reduces a lot of the recoil. Wait until you shoot trap with 7/8th oz loads on a gas gun. You can shoot all day. Another is that if you want to change barrels (hunting?) these models have the most replacement barrels on the market. I have a Beretta 303, great gun, but been looking for a 28in or 30in barrel to replace my 30in Browning B80 barrel. Been 3 years now!
Tons of choke options and accessories for the Beretta line. Don't be in hurry and shoulder all the guns you can. If the local gunstore doesn't have what you want give them your phone # or email address to let you know when one does come in so you have first dibbs.

You can't go wrong with a decent used "B" gun. Listen to Sideline Shooter and take your time. The "one", is out there for you. Also, you may try putting a request in the WTB sections here, Shotgunword and Firing line; advertising works - and watch their Private Party Sale sections.

Damn, Ive never checked out shotgunworld's sale section. I always just visit the huglu section. Calguns private sales listings tend to be sparse in clay shooters, mostly pumps.

Ah, right. I wanted the Stoeger M2000 really bad some months ago haha. Looking up the Baikal

I'm favoring the Franchi line and the Winchester Super X-3
