    Triple B's Questions

I know I can call Trible B's up and find out these answers but where is the fun in that instead of posting here Besides maybe the answers might help someone else who was wondering the same thing.

Q: Where do the sporting clays stations start?
While facing the skeet and trap fields is the first station all the way around to the left (by the practice cages) or all the way right?

Q:There are practice cages to the far left of the skeet and trap fields (I think 5 cages?) are these for public use or only with instructors/members?

    Q:Where are the pattern boards?

There is no map I could find of Triple Bs from their site, am I missing something or do you just have to be in the know to know where things are?

The red arrow is station number one on the sporting clays course.

It's a 24 station oval course that runs counter clockwise.

I think stations 13 thru 24 are for members only.

The sporting clays runs along the freeway and you shoot towards the center.
The stations have electronic card readers for the discharge of clays.
Usually three options per station but they don't always work.
You have the card charged at the office for the amount of clays you want to shoot at. They are very serious about only two rounds fired at each clay.
Used my Beretta Extrema II and fired three rounds, a big NO-NO.
            Good Luck

Oh, so when you shoot sporting clays, you change fields after every couple of clays?

Interesting... no wonder everyone uses those little golf carts.

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

A round of SC is usually 100 birds. Most courses run 12 to 14 stations.

If it's a 12 station course you shoot 4 pairs at 10 stations, and 5 pair at two.

On 14 stations it's a few 3 pair stations mixed in.

Everyone on the squad shoots their pairs, then you move to the next station. Kinda like you guys are doing with skeet, but with more distance between the stations (and ever changing target presentations).

Sporting Clays is just like golf ; walk or ride.

The pattern board is located on the West side of the trap fields. It is kind of tucked back to the left after you pass the last trap ( field # 1). The pattern board is suppose to be for members only but no one has ever asked me to prove it. Maybe that means I spend too much time at the range.

                        Saturday about 10:30 sounds good.

Anyone else want to join in? How about some of you skeet guys?

At least give it a try.

As others have said, non members start at the east end. The first 10 stations are called "bird" stations, simulating diffract types of game birds. After that, they are sporting stations. After about station 10, most have 4 throwers. The last half are for members only. Carts are optional at $20/day but don't waste your money. it is an enjoyable walk through a very wooded area. Put your shells in a backpack or get a swap meet pull cart for them, they work fine.
