930 spx vs. FN SLP

I own the slp mark 1 and it's been a great shooter. Cycles all rounds, easy to break down to clean, accurate and fit/finish are good. Looked at and held the 930; was not impressed at all. Got lucky and bought it for 800 new from a fellow strapped for cash.

I plan on using it for HD and when SHTF.

For HD, I'd go with a 500 or 590. Pumps "just work". For SHTF, 930 SPX is a fine choice.

For 3-gun and SHTF, I bought a 930 field, having the barrel cut down to 22" and rethreaded, added a +4 magazine extension and clamp. It swings a little different from the SPX, but I LOVE the feel of it.

Hard to beat a 930 SPX in the sub-$1000 category. Both are nice guns at their respective price points.

My daddy always said buy the best that you can afford. That rings especially true in guns where most of the time you get what you pay for. This is why I did all the research you're doing now and just dros'd an SLP. I've never shot the mossy, and wouldn't have occasion to, so I had to rely on the interweb and make a decision with info available. FWIW, when i inspected the SLP on dros day, it all looked pretty tight to me. Can't wait to get some fancy blue FN chokes for it and start sending slugs down range.

Did you get your shotty out of jail yet??? Want to know your opinion???
