    Hasting choke question

    Hi all,

I just bought a choke made by Hastings. Model name is Quick Change. Its made of 17-4 stainless. On the front of the package, it recommends lead shot only. On the back of the package it says for all sizes of lead and selected steel shot. The choke is cylinder. Im guessing Hastings is concerned about large steel shot going down a choke that is too tight, hence the recommendation for lead shot only. I will be shooting #7-1/2 steel on a cylinder choke tube@1250fps. There should be no concerns for problems, Am I correct? Thanks for replies.

You're good to go! A cylinder choke is just a straight tube, so there is no risk of the steel expanding the choke tube.

Thanks for the reply bjl333. Im always cautious when a manufacturer issues a warning, but I know sometimes they do so to cover their butts.
