I just picked up a nice miroku sxs 12ga model M, anybody know or have one of these that can tell me about it..thanks

Don't know that particular model, but Miroku turns out a solid product. They are currently manufacturing all of Browning's shotguns (except the custom shop Superposed) and Winchester's Lever guns. I'd say have it checked out and go shoot it!!

Bjl333 is correct. I don't have any more info on the Model M, but suggest that you ask your question on the double barrel shotgun forum (the first one) on www.doublegunshop.com/BBS There has been some discussion of non-Browning marked Miroku doubles there recently and you probably could find it with a thread search. And the guys over there are interested in any double: somebody will have more info for you if you wait a little bit for it.

The Browning BSS doubles, while no longer made, now command a pretty good price. You might look them up to see if they are like your Model M. When Mirokus were first imported (by various importers) they were just "cheap Jap crap." Once Browning made Miroku its "go to" manufacturer, they gained some of the respect their quality is due.

I brought back from Japan a miroku sxs in 20 ga...it's a beautiful gun, easy to carry, and a great upland gun.
