Looks like the difference is a ComforTech(tm!) stock versus a plain synthetic.

Ah! I see. Is it worth getting the comfortech stock? Or should I go for the rifle sights model being sold for $950?

I don't have any experience with shooting the Benelli, so I really can't say. Sorry!

Get the Comfortech. My M2 Salient kicks a lot more than my Remington 1100CM.
I would hate to shoot an M2 without it.
If you can't shoot good, at least look good shooting

I would suggest NOT getting rifle sights... I find it hard to get my cheek on the stock low enough to use them. A vented rib or ghost rings work perfectly. Ghost rings are a bit busy though...

So I either get rifle sights that don't work well due to cheek weld or I get the ghost rings that are too busy. I like the idea of sticking to sights I'm already used to.

I have the M2 with the Ghost rings and without the Comfortech stock.

no problems with either shooting 00 buck and slugs.

15/25 yard targets and the M2 patterns nicely with Ranger low recoil rounds.

i have the M1 with the rifle sights, i have no issues shooting it at all. main reason i got the rifle sights is because i've heard stories of the ghost rings sights falling off and a quick google search would confirm it.

The M2 is able to adjust the stock with spacers provided at least. I have an M1 and went with the ghost rings. I have run my M1 through some IPSC competitions and they are a tad busy compared to a vented rib but I am also use to the post and peep setup from rifles. All comes down to preference. I would take the ghost ring over the rifle sights myself.
