What to do with my 870

whats up guys. I have a 870 express that i just had cut down to 18 1/2 and want to make it awesome. I was thinking of a top folding stock and magazine extender or the 6 position butt stock that go on Ar15s. What should I do. Forsure im gunna add a ghostsight. let me know if you have anything awesome

Judging by the fact that you cut it down to 18.5, I'm assuming you want it for HD?? I second the mag extension; +2 to line up flush with your barrel, anything more and the extension will sit out in front of the barrel. Side saddle for more rounds ready on the side of the receiver, in those SHTF situations. I prefer a shorter LOP stock for better maneuverability in tighter quarters. Personally, I like the Hogue 12" LOP, because I favor the conventional style stock over the pistol grip.

Also, if you're looking to use it for HD, you may want a light and some kind of rail/mount to secure the light to. It's up to you whether you want the thumb-click, toggle (i.e., streamlight tlr-1s), or pressure pad style. It's personal preference. But either way, get a quality mount so the light isn't wiggling loose as you shoot.

Anything more than that, I think is just extra and not necessarily essential.

A crucial part is of course going out to shoot the thing lol. Try different ammo with it to learn how each load patterns at varying distances.

You will need to drill a small hole in the mag tube at the dimple in order to run a +2 mag extension.

IMO the +2 mag extension, a Speedfeed PG stock, side saddle and surefire fore end are all that is needed to make it tacti-cool.

Mesa Tach LE adjustable stock extension , mag extension, side saddle and pistol grip along with a surefire light and change the forend with a mako picatanny rail.

I'd say flip it upside down, attach the pump to the barrel and rework the entire fire control group, so you can have a "Halo-style" pumpgun!
