    benelli nova or beretta 3901?

hey everyone i just went clay shooting today for the first time and i loved it! Im looking into getting my own shotgun now but on a budget of $600. Im open to other shotguns but ive seen some good reviews on the benelli nova and the beretta 3901. I rented the beretta 3901 today and i liked it a lot. Any help would be appreciated.

For clays go with the Beretta.

+1 for the Beretta 3901. The Nova is a good gun, but (IMO) is more suited for hunting or HD. Even though a semi-auto will tend to have less recoil than a pump gun, you will probably want to swap out the plastic butt plate on the 3901 for something a little softer, such as a Limbsaver or Pachmayr Decelerator pad.

The Beretta is on sale at Turner's until the 15th.

            I'll be buying one.

Check out the Stoeger 2000.I have 2 of them now.1 camo,1 black now painted desert camo.Several other shotguns sit in the safe. One Stoeger I have owned almost 5 seasons of trap and bird and coyote hunting. The Beretta is a great gun.So is the Nova,if you want a pump.Stoegers autos use the Benelli action in a Turkey made gun.The action/gun is light and extremely fast operating.Low recoil other than the heaviest coyote loads.New they should be about $450 and up.$300 up used.

AFAIK, there are only two more 3901s at SoCal Turner's locations and they are both display models. I put a down payment on the one in Fountain Valley.
