Going to get a new shotgun

I'm thinking about getting a new shotgun for upland game and maybe ducks. I want an autoloader and don't want to pay too much so I've been thinking about the Beretta 3901 which is only $645. I see the remington 11-87 is only $845 so now I'm wondering if it is $200 better than the 3901. I've seen good reviews for the Beretta and they say it has a soft recoil.

Anyone have any good or bad experiences with either of these guns? Or any other good information to help me make my decision?

I have a Beretta 3901 NRA commemorative I bought on GunBroker for $500, and I was the only bidder.
Sooweeett shotgun. No seals to replace, much easier to clean.
You can't go wrong with a 3901. And I also experienced less recoil than with the Remington.
I've had 1100's and there's no comparison IMO. YMMV.

Both are sweet, it's just a matter of preference at that point.

Cool, I think I'll got with the Beretta and save a few bucks. Thanks for the info.

11-87 is a solid buy as always, the 3901 is just a renamed 390 now made in Maryland so that design is solid to. BTW if you are in southern California at all our beloved Turners chain has the 11-87 sportsman on sale for $575 AFTER the rebate until sept 15.

Personally at those price points I would go with the Beretta just because as much as I love my 1100 I am really learning to hate the Remington bottom bolt release button while hunting. I like the side mounted ones better.

$575 is a good price. I really want a 410 also. Maybe I'll have to get one of each. Rem 11-87 in 410 and the 1391 in 12ga.
