Right, the M1014 is the fixed version, but I was told (by Turner's) when I bought mine that the DOJ wouldn't let them sell the fixed skeleton version because it moved/collapsed like 1/2 inch in and out.

The full version with unlimited mag and collapsible isn't available to civvies.

It's been a while since I researched doing the conversion to "full capacity" over on the Benelli forums and ar15.com. I still have my full-length mag tube somewhere, waiting...

Where did you get the other parts and which ones did you replace?

I wouldn't mind an M4 myself, but I've been holding off since I haven't been able to find the required parts.

There are several letters on this and I can send you both the M4 and M1/M2 ones, if you can't find them online.

The only difference between M1/2 and M4 is that you have to replace fewer parts on an M1/2 to get down to 10, or less, parts

Only switching the extension to a US made one (made by several companies) would be a federal offense. (The extension doesn't even count as a part, you have to replace the WHOLE tube)

ah, yes...gose has it right...thank you for the clarification.

IANAL, but it seems fairly clear to me.

Yes, there are several letters floating around, but AFAIK, the letters agree on everything except the number of parts actually in the shotgun.

                M1 letters, for reference:
                ATF Letter page 1
                ATF Letter page 2

just installing a US made tube will NOT get you 922 R compliant. plain and simple.

also, if anyone has a true 1014 and wants to swap for a choecked 2 hole barrel and cash hit me up.

The M1014 also came with the standard non-skeletonized stock, like mine did.

I purchased mine 2 years ago through BJ Sporting Goods In Hemet.
I have been through US and Canadian customs with it numerous times (in Canada with collapsable stock), and never had any trouble.
Of course I keep it at home with the fixed stock on (as shown). Last time I checked, they can still get you one

I never messed with tube extensions but I sure wish we could get a a nice rail system! What ever happened to Mesa's?

The Benelli forum has been talking about the Surefire M80 for awhile. I guess they are available as a google search shows dealers selling them. Have not seen one except for the above pictures

Also the B&T Quad Rail. Though it only slides over early M4 barrels. Must disassemble/reassemble to fit over newer barrels.

So would either of these trigger 922(r)/non-sporting issues if installed?

There are full length mag tubes for the M4 along with mag extensions to give it a max load.
